This Readme provides information about AVEVA Historian 2020 R2.

New Features In This Release
The AVEVA Historian 2020 R2 release includes the following features:
Support for UOM conversion during retrieval, new Engineering Units Catalog added to SMC.
Support for Excel custom functions, UOM conversion, periodic numeric retrieval supports event based time slicing.
Support for UOM conversion, new alarm grid page.
SMC supports adding/editing/deleting tag extended properties.
Support for Microsoft Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS), enabling consistent backups without shutting down the Historian.
Replication supports high-latency networks.
Note: 32-bit operating systems, and 32-bit SQL Server are no longer supported.
Known Issues
If you install and configure a standalone Historian server, and then later upgrade AVEVA Enterprise Licensing to version 3.6.0000 using a standalone install, the required x86 license components are missing and cannot be installed, and Historian is unable to acquire a license.
To resolve this issue:
Both the x86 and x64 versions of AVEVA Enterprise Licensing are upgraded and Historian is able to acquire a license.
After completing the installation, you can expect to see a set of warnings in the log similar to the following:
Main Storage failed to initailize VSS helper, HRESULT = 0x80070005 CVssWriter::Initialize() failed
Main Storage failed to start Volume Shadow Copy Service Coordinator Subsystem.
Auto Summary Storage failed to initailize VSS helper, HRESULT = 0x80070005 CVssWriter::Initialize() failed
Auto Summary Storage failed to start Volume Shadow Copy Service Coordinator Subsystem.
These warnings are expected immediately after installation, prior to rebooting. After rebooting, these services will start normally without warnings.
